A: The Close the Gap Grant is a Missouri program offering one-time financial assistance (up to $1,500) to K-12 public and charter school students for educational expenses. It prioritizes families with incomes below 185% of the federal poverty level but is open to all eligible students.

A: To be eligible, your child must:

• Be a Missouri resident
• Be currently enrolled in K-12 in a Missouri public school district or charter school
• Come from a household with an income below 185% of the federal poverty level (though higher-income families may still be eligible if funds remain)

A: The grant funds can be used for a variety of allowable educational expenses, including:

• Tutoring: Individual or group tutoring in any subject
• Educational materials: Textbooks, workbooks, study guides, online learning subscriptions
• Technology: Laptops, tablets, educational software
• Other approved expenses: Educational camps, specialized learning programs, college application fees

A: If approved, you'll access your grant funds through an Odyssey account. You can use these funds to directly purchase approved services and products through the Odyssey Marketplace (which includes ArgoPrep!), or submit receipts for eligible expenses you've already incurred between July 1, 2022, and June 1, 2024.
